Hiiii! Guess what I did today, I did my first 5k!
My work held a 5k, and I decided to go for it and sign up! I could do it on my own time and my own pace.
Today, I had some free time, so I decided to do it. I did not run the whole thing, I’m not ready for that. I’m still working being able to run a full mile without walking. But with this 5k, I decided to take it at my own pace.
I got on a treadmill at the gym, set it to 5k, and then would walk for 4 minutes, run for 1 minute. I repeated that until I completed a 5k! It took 1 hour 18 minutes and 26 seconds.

About halfway through, I wanted to give up and finish the last half later, but I knew if I did that, I wouldn’t ever finish.
When I was about 75% done, I couldn’t help but smile to myself. I was actually doing a 5k! Typically, I would be laying around at home (which isn’t always a bad thing) but I couldn’t believe I was actually doing it! I told myself I would, then I did. This would be one thing I wouldn’t look back on and wish I did.
I was so tired after, but I feel so good! Someday I want to be able to run a full 5k without walking. But I want to be able to do my mile first.
You can push yourself, you can do the things you tell yourself you can do, and you can do it ๐
